1928 'Fantasio' Cover Print
A rare ORIGINAL front cover of the French satire magazine Fantasio
It is dated 1st September 1928, and has text/image ads on the back
It is approx 8" x 11" (20x28cm) with light satin finish and no border
The image is sharper, and the colours deeper than the photo shows
It shows 'Doves of Peace' (Colombes de la Paix) being released
The man is wearing the US flag colours and the box says "KELLOG"
It is a reference to the historic signing of the Kellog-Briand Pact in Paris
It was signed by France, Germany and the US on 28 August 1928
The pact was co-authored by Secretary of State Frank Billings Kellog
(for which he was awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 1929)
It is an international agreement in which signatory states promised not to use
war to resolve "disputes or conflicts of whatever nature or of whatever origin
they may be, which may arise among them". The pact was concluded outside
the League of Nations and remains in effect.
