We are reluctantly selling our much loved holiday home in the Auvergne, France. We have owned it for about 20 years and loved our holidays out there. Unfortunately, due to now running a summer holiday business in the UK, it is now much harder for us to get there. The house has 1 bedroom on the 1st floor (approx 12 x 10 feet), with a double bed, built in bunk beds, large wardrobe and shelving. The ground floor is the living room (12 x 10 feet) with sofa and dining table, and basement is kitchen and shower room. There are 2 outside terraces to sit at, one on the ground floor, one off of the basement with a picnic table. It is one of the last houses in a picturesque village of about 20 houses, 2 minutes walk to the river Allier, where we often swim, fish, canoe and relax. The village is a mixture of french and english owners and nearest shops are about 5km away. It is a beautiful village along the Gorge d'Allier. The town of Brioude is a 12 minute drive with many restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets, leisure facilities and weekly market. The house is attached to a larger house, but completely self-contained, with the main entrance on the ground floor and separate entrance to the terrace on the basement. Stairs also lead down to the basement from the roadside. Please note that we will only consider serious offers from potential buyers willing to visit the property before purchasing. We will not consider any offers before a viewing. We still have attachments to the village and area and would love to pass it on to a young family who could enjoy it as much as we did, or a couple who would appreciate the great things about this part of France.
The sale would be through a local notaire and the purchaser should expect to pay about 3000 euros fees on top of the house purchase price.
