Description / Interesting facts :
In 2008, two sales held by Acker Merrall & Condit also left their mark on the history of Dom Perignon, with 3 magnums of Dom Perignon Œnotheque (1966, 1973, and 1976) selling for US $93,260 in Hong Kong.
"One of the highlights of the evening, the 1973 Dom Perignon Œnotheque is vivid and finely sculpted. There is plenty of nuance, depth and freshness in the glass, but it is the wine’s staying power and overall persistence that stands out most, especially as the evening wears on. In this flight, the 1973 Ono is a Champagne of total finesse. It is another stellar Œnotheque and the best wine in the flight of 1973s."
Antonio GALLONI, 98p
Œnothèque is the late-release, cellar-aged series from Dom Perignon. The 1973 is full-bodied and vivacious with hallmark balance and finesse. On the nose there is a hint of toast and ripe yellow plums. The palate shows good vitality with tensile structure. The flavors dance across the tongue leaving a delicious candied lemon aftertaste.
